Happy Monday All!
I hope you’re all doing well and you haven’t missed me too much 😛
Okay, first things first: Last week’s miles! I had a halfway decent week, although at this point I really need to be logging more miles each week. I got in two solid runs, totaling 4.75 miles, which leaves 359 miles in my 365 in 365 challenge. My goal is for this to be a 10-mile week, starting with a run after work tonight!
One thing I’m really proud of right now is that I’ve been able to let go of my inhibitions at the gym and run in just shorts or tights and a sports bra. Those of you who know me at all know that I have very few inhibitions anywhere else. I’m totally unashamed of my body, and I don’t think of myself as fat. I have some excess fat that I could stand to lose, but I don’t look in the mirror and think “Oh geeze, look at that fat blob!”.
But at the gym it’s always been different. Things jiggle around, which makes pants slip down and bras hike up, and it’s not always easy to adjust them mid-run. I’ve been able to combat this fear by making sure I always have shorts or tights that fit properly, and that I tie the waistband tightly enough to keep them up, while still maintaining the ability to breathe!
Post workout last Tuesday night.
Now it’s time for me to scoot off to work. Talk to you crazy kids soon!
I’ll just cut to the chase here and say that last week was a very lazy week for me running-wise. I managed to get 1.25 miles in yesterday. Better than nothing, and I knew this was going to be a slow week for miles. I did, however, make the giant hill at the end of my route my b*tch, which I consider to be a major win!
My phone is refusing to cooperate with screenshots, so no MapMyRun photo for this post (sorry!). I’m hoping to have this problem fixed soon!
My plan is to get a few miles in at the gym tomorrow before group training, and then get a couple of night runs in after work this week. Miles to go: 363.75!
So I was browsing Tumblr this morning, and I stumbled upon what is possibly the greatest idea anyone ever came up with. I have set myself a number of running goals so far this year, including completing my first half and full marathons, and I’m honestly very excited at the prospect of achieving them.
But this idea just takes the cake. Here’s the gif I found on Tumblr this morning:
Pure brilliance, right? 365 miles in a year is literally one mile per day. I will obviously be running more than that on average between my training and races. With just the races I have scheduled, I already have 57.4 of those miles in the bag!
So here’s the deal: There will be a weekly post, which will go live each Monday morning. I’ll let you all know how many miles I achieved the week before, and give you a breakdown of each run. Also, assuming my phone cooperates, there will be screenshots from MapMyRun so you can see for certain that I’ve completed each of these runs. This will all hold me accountable to achieve these 365 miles. I hope you’ll all follow along!
